STORM® Suicide Prevention and Self-harm Mitigation Training focuses on developing the skills needed to help a person at risk of suicide or self-harm to stay safe.
STORM® Postvention training works with employers and schools to create a responsive strategy to help those affected by a person's death by suicide.
STORM® Skills Training Community Interest Company is an internationally renowned social business providing skills-based training in Suicide Prevention, Postvention and Self-injury Mitigation. Our evidence-based training is designed for frontline staff and volunteers across all sectors including key staff in businesses.
As a social business, we reinvest our surplus income into community engagement work, including providing pro bono and subsidised training, hosting events such as an annual themed conferences and the Mental Health Network. We are also able to promote the #HeyAreYouOK? campaign.
With the surplus income we generate, we are able to fund a number of Community Engagement initiatives.
The STORM® Conferences and the #HeyAreYouOK? campaign are a significant part of STORM®’s work. The Mental Health Network is becoming an important addition to the work that we do, as is our ability to provide pro bono training and support.
The #HeyAreYouOK? campaign's mission is to promote a culture that teaches us to recognise distress and to talk about it openly and honestly; a culture that teaches us to ask for help without fear of being stigmatised; and a culture that teaches us to see that sometimes we need to reach out to those we think may be finding life difficult to cope with. It doesn't take much. Simply asking #HeyAreYouOK? Can make all the difference.
